The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) along with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health have set a list of protocols and recommendations for all tour operators and guides to ensure the safe, sanitized execution of all tours. As a result, they have introduced the Tour Operator Gold Standard Certification which all operators must obtain before they are approved for continued operation. Smart Travel Belize is proud to have engaged in all trainings and implemented all cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting and other safety practices/protocols to become certified.
Covid19 has taken its toll on operations since March 2020, however, we’ve used this period productively to focus on the things that could be improved. We’ve done our research, adjusted our marketing, conducted staff training, made repairs and maintenance, did location improvements and focused quite a bit on information technology. We understand that it is just going to boil down to the comfort level of our guests and the regulations of the government, so we are prepared to move forward with a new normal, but with the same fun filled experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.
